Checklists

Checklists offer a wide range of functionality to help students complete required tasks for stage conversion and to allow your staff to display received or outstanding materials. Checklists can be put onto any page on a student’s PURL, and multiple checklists can be displayed and tracked.

In addition to displaying items that have been completed or need to be completed, checklists can also be used to display links to online forms, store downloadable files and collect monetary requirements via PayPal integration. Students can download printable materials, send in deposits and complete online forms and surveys directly through EMP Checklists.

Adding Checklist Items

Checklist items can be added when a checklist is first created or at a later time by editing the checklist.

Item Types:

Item Types:

Text: These items are statements guiding students toward action, such as “Complete Application.”

Link: These provide clickable off-page links and can lead students to online forms or information you may have on your main website.

File: Choosing file allows students to download files directly from their PURL page, like financial aid forms or event schedules.

For all item types, you must designate a Text Label, which will provide the copy that will be displayed for that list item. Additionally, with Link items, you must provide the Link URL pointing to the address you would like to link. With File items, you must use the File Upload dialog to upload the desired file associated with that item.

Once you have chosen the Checklist item type and completed the Text Label (as well as any additional information), you can optionally mark the new item as Checked using the Checked checkbox. This allows you to demonstrate that a portion of the Checklist has already been completed. For example, if you would like to create an “Application Materials” checklist that appears once a student has converted to the Applicant stage, you can set the “Complete Online Application” Text item to Checked to show the student that her application has been completed in full, and that there may be more materials that require submission.

A checklist item can be linked to a interaction. By doing so, the item cannot be checked off by a student nor an EMP user. The item will automatically be checked off if the student receives the chosen interaction. Examples of interactions include: Touch-points, event registration, event attendance, and form submissions.
